Ok, I'll be honest with you. Despite my recent post where I was upbeat and positive (catch up on that here), searching for a tenant has become extremely frustrating.
I don't react well to frustration (does anyone?). I look calm and collected, but underneath I swing between freaking out and feeling a bit numb. So I haven't had much to say (that wasn't a total downer) and therefore haven't written many posts.
On the other hand my frustration has led to a flurry of activity. In a bid to distract myself, and apply the whole 'fake it til you make it' philosophy, I kept myself really busy. I've painted doors, de-cluttered rooms, tackled the junk in our spare closet, and even resealed the bath & shower. I guess that's a bright side of this situation: a tonne of unfinished DIY is finally getting done and I got to cross item No.9 off my '32 before 32' list.
Another little project that gave me a huge boost recently was helping the inspirational Kate Davis-Holmes produce a badge for her #groovingmums blog hop.
I love making things, but it tends to be physical craft or DIY projects. I am happiest with fabric or paint pot in my hand. But using Photoshop and tweaking HTML code is a long way from my comfort zone. However, I really wanted to help, so I took it as the perfect opportunity to push myself.
Thankfully I came up with something Kate liked (and I like it too), and I really enjoyed the process of 'learn by doing'.
The mini project definitely boosted my confidence and whet my appetite for creating more multimedia work (I have ideas buzzing round my head for artwork in our home). Plus I think I can officially cross another thing off my '32 before 32' list (No.24). And that my friends is always a great thing!

Yay for you - love the button!
@Muddling Along
Thanks very much. Was a baby step in the right direction and I really enjoyed it :)
Hi Katie. I take part in the Grooving Mum's blog hop. Just dropped over here from Britmums, and realised you had designed the button! Fab design!
Thanks for linking up again and look how they all love your badge. I am in pmt state so am now off to sulk that they like your badge more than the blog hop itself lol
@Mummy Plum
Howdy fellow groovingmum! Thanks very much. Glad you like the button (although I simply played around with a creative commons image from Nixvex so they deserve a bunch of credit).
Glad you stopped by and will look out for your grooving journey now :)
@kateonthinice
Oh Kate, I feel your pain with pmt - mine is like a black cloud that drains the joy out of even the best things :( And don't be silly about the blog hop lol. We appreciate it and the positive affects it's bringing for us all. I'm definitely grateful you started it because I'm far more intentional about things now. Hopefully you'll feel better soon :)
Good job, Katie! That's a great design! <3
I love the badge - it's a great design. I've been designing my Christmas cards for this year last night and think I've got one I'm happy with. I love being creative but don't really know what I'm doing with illustrator and photoshop so it takes time. I'm a much better learner when I'm shown something rather than trying to figure it out myself. I think I've been on the fake it til you make it track too and I've been keeping busy with DIY also!!

Thanks Marissa. I really enjoyed making it. I'm even using photoshop now to design the parent newsletters for my childminding business.
@Glasgow Mummy
Thanks Sarah. It was fun to do and gave me a reason to learn more about photoshop - I haven't even tried illustrator yet. I'm looking forward to seeing your christmas card design :)
